Darling Army Contest Winners <3
It’s time! At the very last second we pulled together enough submissions to complete the contest! I would like to thank everybody for their creative contributions and congratulate them on their amazing work. We’ll start by going backwards with our announcements.
THIRD PLACE - poplar-leaves - $20 Darling Army Store Credit
This general will whip the Darling soldiers into shape with her super kawaii outfit. Her weapon of choice? Giant Spatula! I love the military concept behind this picture. It’s very much an original, lovely idea!
SECOND PLACE - pancakearts - $35 Darling Army Store Credit
I loved this illustration because of its peaceful, whimsy. The girl’s expression is very calming, but she holds her needle, poised and ready to strike! The little Totoro companions complete the image by giving it just the right touch of magic. =) Fantastic job <3
FIRST PLACE - bunnycupmuffincake - $60 Darling Army Store Credit
Not only did she submit the most artwork, but she also created my favorite image! This image captures what Darling Army is all about! Female versions of shounen characters. Not only is the idea spot on, but the pinafores she put her characters in are absolutely amazing! I couldn’t have designed them better myself! In fact, I love them so much, I would like to ask her if I can alter and create them so that they can be worn in real life. Amazing design and great joy!
